Is a make-up trial really necessary?

Yes definitely, because this is where you will discuss your make up and skincare needs as well as the theme of your wedding, this includes flowers, colours, jewellery, style of dress and the overall look and feel of your day and even more importantly anything you DON’T WANT to see.  ​

When is the ideal time to book a trial?

Between 6 and 12 weeks before is the optimal time, however some brides like to meet their make up artist before they commit to booking, therefore this is a good question to ask your make-up artist in the very beginning when you are searching for someone to help you. ​

Will one make up artist be able to do the whole bridal party?

Every make up artist has her own maximum amount of people she is comfortable doing but if there are a lot of extras, including guests, then both make-up artists in the network collaborate regularly with one another to help out with larger bridal parties. (depending on availability) if they are not available then they will help you look for another make-up artist to help.

Good make up application starts from within and so being aware of your diet and water intake before the day itself is the very best way of getting long lasting, flawless results, you can help your make up artist by starting this as part of your daily routine as soon as you can.

Our Top Tips

Our top tips for skin preparation that you can start doing right now:

1. Drink plenty of water – lack of hydration leads to dull, dry skin and cakey make up application
2. Get plenty of sleep – ideally 8 hours if possible, especially the night before!
3. A daily 3 step skin regime: cleanse - tone – moisturize; ideally using product for your specific skin type
4. Exfoliate skin twice a week – gentle exfoliation helps remove impurities and dead skin cells
5. Deep cleansing mask once or twice a week – avoid doing this the week leading up to the wedding though!
6. Gently exfoliate dry, chapped lips with a homemade lip scrub (there are many available online) or use a clean (soft/medium) toothbrush to plump and keep lips moisturised 2/3 times week
